What is Screen Touch ?

Screen touch or touch screen refers to the technology used in touch-sensitive devices such as smartphones, tablets, and touchscreens on computers and other electronic devices.

It allows users to interact with the device by touching the screen, rather than using buttons or a keyboard.

The technology works by detecting the location and movement of a user's finger on the screen. This information is then used to control the device, such as moving a cursor, opening apps, and typing text.

How Touch Screen Works ?

There are several different technologies that can be used to make a touch screen, but the most common ones are resistive, capacitive, and infrared.

1) Resistive touch screens

These screens are made up of two layers of material, typically glass and plastic, that are separated by a small gap.
When a finger or stylus presses down on the screen, the two layers come into contact, creating a change in electrical current that is detected by the device.

2) Capacitive touch screens

These screens are made of a conductive material, such as glass, that stores electrical charges.
When a finger touches the screen, it disrupts the electrical field, allowing the device to detect the touch and determine the location of the finger on the screen.

3) Infrared touch screens

These screens use infrared light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and photodetectors to detect touch.

The LEDs create a grid of infrared light beams across the screen, and when a finger or other object touches the screen, it blocks some of the beams, which is then detected by the photodetectors.

All of the above technologies are using different methods to detect the touch but the end goal is the same which is to detect where the finger or stylus is touching the screen, and then translate that into an action on the device.
